Out here setting up Hickory Heat BBQ for the 2023 Little Elm Craft Brew & Que Festival. The day started off heading over to buddies house to pick up his trailer smoker with my Tesla Model Y. The night before I charge the Tesla to 100% to make sure we had enough power to get the event and back. We started in Princeton, Texas and drove down Highway 380 to FM 423 (Main St.) to Eldorado:
The Drive took about 40 minutes and used about 20% of the battery. We were the first of our crew to get there, plus the first vendor. 10 minutes later the other few members showed up with another smoker, rest of the supplies, all the meat:
- 8 Briskets
- 5 Pork Butts
- 100 sausages
- 42 corn on the cob
We got our spot all setup and then ran to Kroger to get 5 racks of Saint Louis style ribs. Once we got back we had some down time to cook the ribs and eat some Taco Delite. The event started 4, we had two people running the smokers, one person chopping meat, one person assembling sandwiches, and a cashier. The event lasted 5 hours and we sold out of brisket.
